Web 2.0 and tools for the modern Yoga teacher

I have spent the last ten years of my life studying the classics of the East in the most traditional manner that has been available. Needless to say i have been reluctant to open myself up too far to the use of technology, taking comfortable baby steps into this 'brave new world'. Much of my reluctance is born out of the old 'passive' paradigm where information is kind of dumped on the user in an one sided impersonal fashion. With the advent of web 2.0 tools such as wiki's and blogs have developed that i am much more comfortable with because they are interactive tools that leave the user empowered. I have spent the last week researching blogs and have found many that could prove extremely useful for fellow yoga teachers and students alike. The first i encountered was http://www.itsallaboutyoga.com. The first area I found interesting was simply the sharing of information but the second and probably more profound is the sharing of experience. The latter is really a unique function of blogging, for as a teacher and student being able to listen to the experiences of others is invaluable from both a motivational angle as well as feeling a sense of community. I am beginning to see the great potential blogging has to offer and am excited to explore
