E learning and Yoga

It has been roughly five years now since I have accepted the fact that using computer technology is a necessity for successfully dealing with today's business environment. Yet it has been within the last year that i have begun to embrace the use of technology as a tool to accelerate learning and go beyond what is possible with conventional learning techniques. A great example is the software package titled "The journey to the wild Divine". As a meditator and yoga practitioner I initially shunned the use of computer technology as yet another distraction and a time consuming isolating phenomenon contributing the further isolation and impersonalization of the human experience. The world of Internet 2.0 has offered some promise but my initial take on all this was that it was largely used for socialization and a technologically glorified meet market. As I have continued to explore I have found promise in programs such as The journey to the wild divine which uses biofeedback and various computer based modules to rapidly accelerate the acquisition of some of the skills required to be a proficient meditator. I honestly feel that this is only the beginning of the good that can be developed with the "right" intentions motivating the design. Combining the interactive features of web 2.o with bio feedback and other self reflective tools spiritual seekers can find themselves in a world beyond their wildest dreams. This is a 180 degree shift in thinking for me, it hasn't been an easy transition but worthwhile doesn't describe the bliss I can foresee emerging as more and more effort is contributed.
